The Malthouse Self Catering, Holiday Accommodation in the Heart of Woodbridge
In an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and watched over by the world famous Anglo-Saxon burial ground at Sutton Hoo, the ancient riverside town of Woodbridge has retained an interesting variety of historical architecture and offers a wide range of pubs and restaurants, shops of all shapes and sizes, as well as a cinema and an indoor heated swimming pool and gym complex. The Malthouse, originally an old malting house dating from the 18th century, is located in the heart of the town and overlooks the river Deben. To make the most of the river views, the Malthouse is an ‘upside down’ house sleeping up to 5 people and welcomes pets and children. This self catering holiday cottage is an ideal base for visitors wishing to while away their time walking along the miles of riverpaths from the doorstep of the Malthouse, and the intricate network of roads opens up the whole of the county of Suffolk for full days out of exploring …. from the seaside towns of Felixstowe, Aldeburgh, Walberswick and Southwold to the picture postcard villages and chocolate box thatched cottages further inland. The house is adjacent to the railway station (about 14 trains a day of one to three carriages) enabling visits to London, Cambridge, Norwich and Ipswich. There are various bus services too but it is important to check the timetables as some journeys do not always return on the same day! Discover the secrets of Suffolk – your Suffolk cottage holiday starts here!
